KIIT and KISS Sports Director Dr Gaganendu Dash was today elected uncontested as the secretary of Odisha Volleyball Association (OVA) for a four-year term. This was announced by Election Officer M A Alam after withdrawal of nominations at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack today.
One working president, six vice-presidents, two joint-secretaries and one treasurer were also elected unopposed. However, election for the post of president will take place on September 23 with two candidates _ Subodha Kumar Routray and Pradeep Kumar Mohanty _ in the fray.
A qualified volleyball coach, Gaganendu Dash earlier functioned as a vice-president of OVA. He did his PhD in Yoga. Under his directorship, KIIT and KISS became internationally acailmed sports-promoting universities of Odisha, producing large number of sportspersons of national and international repute, setting up top-class infrastructure facility and providing employment to over one hundred coaches and support staff.
